The Knights now know where and against whom they will prepare for the upcoming Czech Extraliga season. The team's preseason schedule for 2026-2027 will begin on August 13 in Liberec. Kladno will then travel to Herisau, Switzerland, for a training camp and participation in the Herisau Ice Hockey Classics, where they will face clubs from Germany and Switzerland. Following their return, fans can look forward to several attractive matchups, including a home game against Sparta Prague.
After completing the off-ice conditioning phase under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Ondřej Ježek, Kladno’s players will begin voluntary on-ice sessions at the end of July. The first full-team practice is scheduled for Monday, August 3, and is expected to feature the club’s new coaching staff led by head coach Radim Rulík, assistant coaches Marek Židlický and Tomáš Plekanec, and goaltending coach Ondřej Pavelec.
The Knights will play their first preseason game on Thursday, August 13, in Liberec. Following the matchup against the White Tigers, the team will head to Switzerland for the second consecutive year, this time returning to Herisau. In the picturesque town, Kladno will take part in a week-long training camp that concludes with participation in the Herisau Ice Hockey Classics.
Kladno will first face German powerhouse Adler Mannheim on Friday, August 21. One day later, the Knights will take on HC Davos, runners-up of Switzerland’s National League. As they did last year, Kladno supporters are organizing a fan bus trip to Switzerland. The package will include transportation, accommodation, and tickets for both tournament games. After returning from Switzerland, the Knights will play three more preseason games against familiar Extraliga opponents. On Tuesday, September 1, Kladno will visit HC Energie Karlovy Vary. The team will then make its home preseason appearance at ČEZ Stadion on Thursday, September 3, when Sparta Prague visits Kladno for the first time since last season’s preliminary playoff round. Season ticket holders for the 2026-2027 season will receive free admission to the game.
Kladno will conclude its preseason schedule on Thursday, September 10, with a final tune-up game in Mladá Boleslav. The Knights will open the new Extraliga season on Wednesday, September 16, away against Vítkovice.
